Impasto Painting

Today we are going to be defining and answering some impasto questions. First, we need to define what is an impasto painting. It is a technique of laying on paint so that it stands out from a surface. Its is something like this:

Now some people might be asking how does the impasto technique express emotion. It express emotions by the warm and calming colors. Quick fact Vincent van Gogh wasn't the first one to use the impasto technique. The first one to do it was Rembrandt in 1659.

Doing an impasto painting is pretty easy just layer paint randomly. If you want to do something like Vincent van Gogh starry Night Painting. The one I showed you as an example.

Setting Our Hands on FIRE!

 Welcome,

Today I'm going to be telling you my experience by setting my hands on fire. People might say it dangerous and it's scary. And they are right. But at least give it a try. So let's get into it. Before we set our hands-on fire we have to go through safety rules. 

We need safety glasses. Listen for the intrusion if you want to get rid of the fire and change your position to a stop. Sadly I don't have a video of it so it's hard to finger out what I'm saying. Anyways here are the things you need to set your hands on fire.

First up get safety glasses and wet your hands in water up to your elbow. Next scoop some bubbles made from gas. Make sure you get lots of bubbles just in case. Next, you stand straight and move your hands away from your face. Then you get someone to light the bubbles on fire and enjoy. It'll hurt like fire but you can stop whenever you want. If you feel like stopping, stop.

Fast Reaction

Welcome To My Blog,

Yesterday and today we practiced our reaction time to see who has the fastest. And before we tried it I knew I already had a fast reaction time. Reaction time is how many seconds it takes for you to react to something. Like when something falls you might have a quick reaction to running and catching it. Some people would stand still and think about what to do then it drops. 

Getting a fast reaction time is not easy. You have to think fast. You know a common phrase, "Think fast" then they throw a ball at you or something you could catch. I usually catch it or try but miss it. But it does help your reaction time. The more you practice the faster you can think. 

So first I wanted to drop the ruler on Khiel's hand to see how fast he can catch it. I planned to try and distract him then drop it at an unsuspecting time. Like I talked to him about when I'm going to drop then I dropped it than catch it. Then quickly I dropped it again making him react really quickly before it falls. Sadly he didn't react quickly so he caught it on 2.9 or 30.

Growing Bacteria and Fungi

Today I've grown some Bacteria and Fungi. We used some agar jelly inside the petri dish. We have to find something to create bacteria like fingernails or your hands. For my first one, I used my phone & phone case, the top of a very old dirty bucket, a Chromebook, and a science desk. All of them are really dirty and haven't been cleaned in a long time.

Art Logo

 Ohayou and Konnichiwa Viewers to my blog,

This term in art we have been trying to make our own logo. Logos are pretty hard to come up it. If you make a logo that doesn't match your company objective. Like if you make a nature logo and you are actually a tech company people will %100 mistakes it for being a nature company.

I tried to make a logo but it was really hard. I started moving closer towards Minecraft inspiration because there is so many different stuff you could make. From the community who drew real-life swords in Minecraft. 

After when I finished I went to the teacher to let my logo be revered. After that, we have to push the pencil really hard to replicate it on the lino to crave it. But first, we have to use a permanent marker on the pencil so it won't be rubbed out while we crave it out.

Binary

Today we are going to be talking about binary. Binary is quite simple. But for some people, it could be really hard. Binary is quite confusing for me, even though I like to learn about computers. There are so many ways the binary alphabet is defined. But we are only doing 5 to write binary letters in our first lesson. We calculate them by using math. 

First, we got 16 then 8, 4, 2 and 1 on the very left. The way binary works is we can write letters if it calculate to that number. For example 00001 =A which is the first letter of the alphabet. It has a value of 1. B has a value of 2 and it goes on repeatedly. It's basically turning the number if it can equal the value towards the number we're on.

Art Logo's

Today I'm going to be sharing with you my work with logos. There were many logo's to choose from. But I chose the logo's I like. All of them are not logos but it still counts. We have to add at least 3 and pick 3 favourite logos.

Demon Slayer

The font and the logo just match with the anime. And the moon represents the levels of how strong the demons are in the show. I really love this show as with the logo. The fonts also matches with the show intension and plot.






Dream

First, you would see a horrible drawn smiley face. It's pretty basic. But it represents much more. The person behind the logo is a really good Minecraft player. The logo message is that never judge a person by its cover.






Mr Beast

One of the biggest growing YouTuber today. He is really rich and gives away lots of money. He also gives lots for the homeless and for shelters and donations. And he was the second person to ever eat an expensive golden steak.

Matariki 2021

Today we are going to be talking about Matariki. Matariki is a Maori new year. Every New Zealanders honour Matariki on June 24. Way before the seven stars called Matariki helped the Maori recognise when is winter going to happen. So they could harvest the food plus not undernourish when it's winter.

Here are three facts about Matariki

Since the Matariki stars keep reappearing it signals the beginning of the Māori New Year and winter for the Maori's.

Matariki is a star cluster, not a constellation.

You can see Matariki for yourself outside on June midnight.

Matariki is one of the star clusters near-earth so it's easier to see with your eyes

Taste Test

Today I'm going to be sharing with you my science experiment. The experiment was easier than I expected. We have to do a taste test. We have to identify what food it is. But we have to do it blindfolded and with our nose block. 

The method we used was,

Let someone cut up the food for you without you knowing what it is.

Get a partner to feed you the food.

Blindfold yourself and block your nose. 

Guess what it is.

It's your partner's turn.

After when they finish your done.

As you can see it was really easy. But guessing what is the food is harder than you think. But when I tried the apple was the easiest thing to guess. Maybe because the flavour is unique or I ate too many apples and remembered the flavour. 

Next, we did a tongue taste. We got three substances and put them on a taste buds area. Then after when we put on a tasting area we have to guess which taste buds is which. Funny story, I put the sugar in the front of my tongue and it was really sweet but really sour so I stood up and walked around for a bit.

A Computer In Your Mind

Today I'm going to share with you my opinion about the new technology Elon made. If you don't know about it, it's called Neuralink. It's a little coin looking chip thing that the doctors will implant inside your brain. 

Here is my opinion

Neuralink is a brand new tech created by Elon to help paralysed humans connect with technology. Elon Musk also created it to help defeat AI if they get to advance

Elon worries about when AI takes over the world. He wanted to implant humans with neural link to help defeat AI in the future. He also invented it to help people. 

 For example, the video ‘Monkey Pong’ shows a monkey using a computer to play some simple games. If the money wins in the game he gets banana smoothy. The money for a treat gets a banana after. 

I think this new technology advancement is awesome. But there are lots of flaws in the technology. A lot of people will deny the technology because they think it’s bad. If hackers get more advance they could even hack the Neuralink. Lots of things could go bad if they don’t increase the security measure. But I think there could be good, I think they could be also bad. But that is what they said when the new iPhone was created. People were like, “Things could go wrong. What if the phone was evil.” Now we basically use the glass touch screen phone as standard. It won’t hurt if you don’t give it a try.

Science Indicators

Today we are going to be talking about an experiment that me and my friend Khiel did. We were doing an experiment when we add acid, alkali and water/neutral to something like cranberry juice, tea and turmeric powder. We also got a chance to try out the universal indicator. 

So we tested cranberry juice with acid, water and alkali. First, we put acid in cranberry juice. It didn’t change the colour much because it’s already red. It just got a little bit darker. It’s not that noticeable. Next, we did the water. We added water to the cranberry juice and we overfell it a little bit. The cranberry juice was a little bit lighter than before, like when you add water to basically everything. Next, we added alkali to the cranberries. This one was a noticeable change. It got really dark. It kinda got 2x darker

Next, we tried tea. The tea smelt and looked really good. Again when we added the acid it still looked the same. Then we added some water and it did the same thing. It just made it a little lighter like how you add water to most substance. Then we added alkali and surprise surprise it became a darker colour.

Next, we did it with some turmeric powder. First, we were hyped up so we added water first. Because we saw some group that added water first then it looked like orange juice. We quickly went to go and get some water and added it. We moved the test tube around and mixed it. It turned orange then we put it down. Next, we went and added Akali. We mixed it around as it turned dark orange. Then we added some acid. It kinda turned it into a lighter colour for some reason.

Then we wanted to try out the Universal Indicator. First, we added a couple of drops of acid, then water then akali. We got out the universal indicator and added a couple of drops in each one. The acid started turning red as the water turned green. The alkali turned into a dark blue colour. 

Red - Acid

Green - Neutral

Blue - Akali

Musical Heros

Today we are going to be reviewing musical heroes. The Crowded House. For the people who don't know who is the Crowded House, you might have asked. Well, the Crowded House is a popular band in NZ well known if their music and performance. 

The Crowded House band has the biggest gig in the world right now. If you're wondering how are their gigs the biggest in the world? Its because New Zealand is one of if not only the first country to be on level 1. Which means concerts are aloud. But some people still want to be safe and wear face masks.

Gummy Bear Osmosis

Today we are going to be talking about an experiment I did with my friends Khiel and Lucas. First, before we started our experiment we had to predict what will happen. Our science teacher Mrs Wheeler said there is no wrong in guessing what will happen. 

I wrote that the gummy bear will absorb the saltwater, sugar water and water. After when it absorbs it I'll and grow in size. When we started our experiment we first got some saltwater and put two gummy bears in the saltwater. Then we went and got some sugar water/sugar dissolved in water.  Then we got some plain water that has been filtered. We got the gummy bears and put them in. We also got 2 gummy bears that were not in any of the water. We took some pictures of the gummy bears.

We left our gummy bear for about 24 hours and when we checked it people thought it grew in size. But it just looked like it grew. When we got our gummy bears we observed them and noticed that the water one broke it in half. I took off the lid to feel them and they were really sticky. They were also fragile so they break easily when you touch them. 

After our experiment, we watched a video of someone doing a gummy bear osmosis experiment. Their one grew in size because they left it out for only about 15 minutes. Our one burst because of the water so it couldn't grow in size.

Famous Women Scientist - Maryam Mirzakhani

Today we are going to talk about one famous women scientist. I picked Maryam Mirzakhani as the women scientist I'm going to be researching. I picked her because she is a mathematics and she is really interesting in general. 

Maryam Mirzakhani was an Iranian mathematician, she was a professor of mathematics at Stanford University. She research topics about the Teichmüller theory, hyperbolic geometry, ergodic theory, and symplectic geometry. 

She is famous because in 2014 Maryam Mirzakhani was the first woman to be awarded a Fields Medal. In her life, she had some misfortune and in 2013 she was diagnosed with breast cancer. In 2016, the cancer spread to her bones and liver.  She died on 14 July 2017 at the age of 40.

Communities

Today we are going to learn about the community. A community is a group of people. A community could be your friends, family, or people around the world. What makes a good community.  Making a good community is in that community they don't have bad comments to other community. 

There are lots of communities around the world. And most of them are international. which means the whole world. Some communities are fans of the people who make the games, shows, etc. Have you heard of the SCP wiki? There is a whole community about the SCP wiki. The SCP wiki is made by writers that write horror story of the universe they made. They also got some ideas from fans and usually make their stories interesting. Some of the locations have been censored to make the story more interesting.

The community came from people forming a small group of something that they believed in. A community is a social group of living people, with a community such as religion, values, customs, etc. The world community came from an old French world comuneté.

I come from the religious community, the gaming community, and the anime community. Gaming changed my life when I would be down gaming distract me from my real-life problems. Anime also helped me in some ways and changed my personality. Church also help me find myself and other things in my life.

Bunsen Burner

You might have seen my first blog of 2021 now this is my second. Today I'm going to tell you some of the safety rules for the Bunsen Burner. So today I lit a match for the first time because my parents never made me light up a match before. Anyways lets into it.

First, we are going to be talking about safety rules.

1. If you have long hair tie it up into a bun just in case something happens to it. 

2. Wear safety glasses to protect your eyes.

3. Don't eat or drink in the lab.

4. Wear leather shoes so if you drop acid it won't get to your feet instantly.

5. Stand up during a practical so you can move back if something goes wrong.

6. Put any bags or jacket under you desks or on your seat.

7. NO RUNNING in the lab.

8. Check if all the gas is off.

9. If anything is broken tell the teacher or you'll be in bigger trouble.

Here are the steps for lighting up your Bunsen Burner. 

1. You set up your Bunsen Burner to a rubber tube.

2. Get your fireproof mat or someplace to put the Bunsen Burner because it's going to burn the thing it's under.

3. Place the rubber tube into a gas dispenser or something that can produce gas. 

4. Make sure the air hole is closed and light your match.

5. Pump up the gas and put you match over the top of the Bunsen Burner.

6.  Move it around until the gas gets caught on fire.

7. Done your finished you can open the air hole if you want hotter flames or close it for the safety flame. The safety flame will still burn you but you can see it and its less hot than the blue flame.

Describe The Flame	The flame is dark blue. The other flame is invisible to the naked eye but you can only see the blue flame. The blue flame is really hot way hotter than the red flame.	It’s red and really easy to see. But it produces lots of smoke and the smoke smells bad.
Is It The Safety Flame	No, the blue fire is not a safety flame. First of all its really hot, second-most of the fire cannot be seen through the naked eye.	Yes, the red flame is really easy to see and less hot than the other.
