Earth Science/Weathering

Welcome everybody back to Earth Science Part 2,

Today we are talking about weathering. I have some pictures and 2 videos to show you of the mini land that my group "The Jiraffes" made for topic.

Weathering is caused by many different things like rain, snow, ice, thunderstorms/lightning, etc, etc. They can break the rocks from the mountain and all of the sediment will fall into the rivers. After years they will turn inside sedimentary rock.

We made a mini land. We made it landscape so it's easier to made land. We made a volcano, mountain, a river for the water to full up, a small lake and nature. We got four rocks, two plants and six pieces of bark.

We needed a ruler, a cup, a pencil or scissors and tape. First we needed to put a hole inside the cup so the water can flow. I tried making a hole with the pencil but I failed. After that Kayden got the scissors and cut a circle hole. After that we had to put the ruler in the middle and put the cup on top of the ruler. Then we had to stick it down with the tape. I did a good tape placement while the others did the rest.
After that two people recorded what happened to our land. Miss D was explaining what will happen to our land in the future.

I noticed that The Jiraffe's mini land is breaking overtime. I think it's because the water eats the sand overtime. Or just people moving the book to make it lose. Or maybe the sand had too much water

Here is the picture and the video

Thank you for vising my blog

  1. Hello Aaron.
What a good explanation you have given explaining what you have been doing in room 6.
I like that you have added a video to show your work.
I did see a lot of 'mini lands' in room 6 and did wonder what they were.
I thought you were all making mud pies but it turns out you are making experiments.
Keep up the good work and I look forward to reading more of your posts.

  2. Hi Mrs Cassidy, I like how you thought that we were making 'mud pie.' I laugh a little bit after when you said 'mud pie.' Anyways we made our mini for a weathering experiment. We are now doing an experiment about 'crystals and metamorphic'.

    Kind Regards Aaron

To support my learning I ask you to comment as follows:
1. Something positive - something you like about what I have shared.
2. Helpful - A sentence to let us know you actually read/watched or listened to what I had to say
3. Something thoughtful - how have you connected with my learning? Give me some ideas for next time or ask me a question.
